5 Questions This Week On The Campaign Trail

March 17, 20263 min read

Over the past week while I’ve been out around Keller at events, meetings, and just running into neighbors around town. I’ve been hearing some great questions.

I thought it would be helpful to start sharing a few of them each week so you can hear the kinds of questions and concerns coming up around Keller and how I’m thinking about them as a candidate.

Here are a few questions I’ve been hearing this week:

📌

WHAT DOES CITY COUNCIL ACTUALLY DO? (This was probably the question I got the most!)

City Council helps guide the direction of the city. They make decisions on things like budgets, development, infrastructure, public safety, and planning for Keller’s future. They also work alongside city staff to help make sure the city is running well.

Honestly, local government affects more of our day-to-day lives than most people realize. That’s why I think this question matters so much. It’s important for people to not only know who they’re voting for, but also understand the role itself so they can be informed voters and engaged citizens.

City Council is there to represent the people. So if people don’t fully understand what City Council does, that matters. Communication and transparency are a big deal to me, and if I’m chosen to serve, I want people to feel more informed, more connected, and like they actually know what’s happening in their city.

📌

WHY SEAT 5?

In Keller, council seats are numbered places rather than districts, so the seat number simply identifies which position is open. When Seat 5 became available, I felt called to step forward and run. A lot of the ways I’ve served Keller over the years have been centered around community, connection, and local involvement, so this felt like a meaningful opportunity to continue serving in a new way.

📌

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?

I care deeply about Keller and the people who live here. We have a strong foundation, and I believe we’re at a pivotal point of growth where we could either lose some of our identity or strengthen it.

I’m running because I believe in stewarding Keller well. To me, that means protecting the small-town feel, character, and sense of community people love, while also planning in a way that supports our economy, public safety, and long-term sustainability.

As a small business owner, I understand the importance of sustainability, communication, and making decisions with both today and tomorrow in mind. I also believe strong leadership should be approachable, thoughtful, and rooted in the community it serves.

📌

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CANDIDATES?

For me, it comes down to communication. I believe people deserve to understand what’s happening in their city and feel like they have access to the people representing them.

I believe leadership should be accessible, engaged, and connected to the community both online and in person. That’s something I’ve already been committed to through projects like Kickin’ It in Keller and other local community work.

📌

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN?

Prayers, conversations, sharing the page with friends, volunteering, hosting a yard sign, engaging on social media, or coming to one of our in-person meetups all make a difference. This campaign truly is a community effort, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

At the end of the day, it’s the people of Keller who decide the future of our city. Your support, encouragement, and willingness to be part of the conversation mean more than you know. Anyone can be a part of this. All of it makes an impact.
